Big riad built in the second half of the XIXth century, on Si Saïd ben Moussa's initiative. After its death in 1900, the house was transformed, just after the establishment of the French protectorate, into place of residence for his representatives in the region of Marrakesh. Work of Ahmed el Mansour Ed-Dahbi ( The Gilt) at the end of the XVIth century, the El Badi palace was a time considered as the wonder of Moslem the world. Grave Saadiens, was discovered in 1917. The building is of shape squared, and is constituted by a small chapel, by two loggias, and by a big room, every decorator with sharpness. The second building consists of three rooms, called: room of Mihrab, Room of twelve columns, and finally the Room of three niches. This building was built by Al Mansour to receive its skin there, which rests in the central room, as well as three of his successors. This central room, with its twelve marble columns of Italy, and its wooden dome of decorated cedar, is a very beautiful example of the Spanish-Moresque ornamental art. Outside, are the graves of the soldiers and the servants.
Situated in the heart of the medina, formerly place of the public executions, the place Jemaa El Fna, is classified universal patrimony by UNESCO. It is the main tourist attraction of Marrakesh. This charming garden was created by the French painter Jacques Majorelle, who becomes established there from 1922.
